Panama 2017 - Day 1

Hello from Panama!

Our team left The Naz at 11AM and we arrived at our hotel around 1AM.  I would love to say that "travel day" was uneventful, however, we did have a minor glitch!  It seems that someone (Bob Kennedy) on our team has some information on their passport that is similar to a "wanted" person which caused about a two hour stall out in Panama Immigration.  Although it was unexpected, it did give us all a chance to pause and visit with each other and get to know those we will be working along side in the days to come.  AND, we know that God has gone before us and is with us now, we may never know why, but we trust the one who does!
Tomorrow we will head to a small church, Cabuyita, for Sunday services.  In the afternoon, we will get a chance to go back to Espave for a visit.  This will be a chance for some of us that were on the team last year to see the kids we met and sponsored, and also, new team member will experience this very unique community of Christ followers for the first time!

From our devotional from today.....
"Lord, help us to meet each challenge with your strength, wisdom, love and understanding."

Keep us in your prayers.....
Jim Burgess, Bill Markby, Dave & Luz McKinnon, Dave & Cindy Moilanen, Joe & Tracy Yurkunas, Bob & Vickie Kennedy, Zac Lewis, and Linda Caswell

Thank you Linda for sharing this blog. It is exciting to read and I absolutely LOVE reading it. It fills my heart with Joy to see these beautiful people and see the Love of the Lord on their faces. The simple act of kindness and love that you guys share for each other shows through in the pictures. Sometimes wishing I was there, living amongst them. They are so happy and content when with being as poor as they are. Does show that money surley cannot by happiness. It's a Beautiful thing you guys going there and working side by side with them.. Making improvements, laughing and teaching. Being the hands and feet of Jesus. It's no wonder Jesus LOVES the little children... Their smiles and laughter says it all. So sweet, and tender their little faces and souls. I know by having many exchange students and being immersed into another culture doesn't mean you have to know the language. You feel a sense of unity that doesn't have to be comprehended or explained. What a marvelous thing God allows to take place. Connection of hearts through Love and compassion. Praying for all of you!! Sending Love from home! Janette
