WHO SHOULD BECOME A STEPHEN MINISTER AT THE NAZ?
Our Stephen Ministers here at The Naz are men and women, 18 and older who exhibit a strong walk with Christ. They are regular Naz attenders who feel a call from God to help hurting people. They have made the decision to commit their time to the training process, the supervision meetings and the caring relationships into which they are called.
THE PROCESS OF BECOMING A STEPHEN MINISTER AT THE NAZ
Classes are typically held yearly (beginning in November). Our ministers receive 50 hours of training, which is taught by our Stephen Ministry Leadership Team.
The first step is to contact a Stephen Leader and let us know that you are interested. We will be glad to discuss the ministry and answer any questions that you have. As class time approaches, you will fill out an application and have an interview with a leader. Together, you will evaluate if this is the right ministry for you.
Training is usually completed in April, after which you will be commissioned as a Stephen Minister. The ministry asks for a two year commitment, but the spiritual reward is such that many ministers serve for twenty years or more.
